Comments: I have seen a secondary "Red Sun" finish where the globe of the sun is in the lower left corner of the body (instead of between the pickups) with the Red stripes radiating out from its position there.
I have seen other "Safari" finishes as well. There is a Safari finish that appears to be a Metallic Blue background with Chartreuse stripes. There is also a tri-color Safari pattern. The best way to describe it would be metallic blue/purple burst with a reddish center overlaid with yellow stripes. I am not certain what the official, Ibanez designation for these color patterns are. "Safari Blue" and...?
Finally, there is the black/white striped pattern as shown above. I have seen this pattern on several DT-380s - always in black and white - but have never been able to determine the name of this pattern. At this stage, we are assuming it was a spot production run.
With regard to controls, both the "Safari Blue" and the tri-color Safari patterned DT-380s seem to come with three (3) control knobs rather than the usual two (2). I am assuming they are two (2) individual pickup Volume controls and one (1) Master Tone control.
